Our restaurant offers a genuine Latin American atmosphere and is the first in Salzburg and all over Austria to offer the famous Venezuelan Arepas. The Cumanagotos, native inhabitants of Venezuela, prepared round shaped corn bread before the Spanish conquerors arrived in America around 1579 and 1580 and called it "erepa". The arepas are made from pre-cooked corn flour and are nowadays cooked or fried on the grill. This round dough is very traditional in Venezuela and Colombia due to its simplicity and versatility and for many people in these countries it is even the main food on their tables. It can be filled with a variety of ingredients, the most popular being chicken, beef and pork, salad leaves, beans and various vegetarian and vegan ingredients. They can also be prepared vegan, because the arepas are made only from corn and do not have to be mixed with any animal products. We also offer sauces that are freshly prepared every day without chemical preservatives and with the incomparable Latin American taste.
