Dudu Tassa & The Kuwaitis (IL)
Sounds like a fairy tale from Arabian Nights, but is pure Iraq'n Roll: Dudu Tassa is the grandson of Daoud Al-Kuwaiti, who together with his brother Saleh created some of the (still to this day) most famous Arabic songs from the 1920s to the 50s – even in exile in Israel, where the two Jewish Iraqis emigrated to in 1948. A good ten years ago, Dudu, now a guitar hero, film and pop star, set about modernizing grandpa's music. This also pleased Radiohead, who took him and his Kuwaitis on tour, or the European World Music Charts, who put the new album "El Hajar" in their top ten for months. Now for the first time in Austria.
