The name refers to the Prophet's flight from Mecca to Medina. Music lovers so far have associated the word with anything but a fleeting album by singer Joni Mitchell, featuring Jaco Pastorius on bass. Now this formation from south-east London is added to the musical list, which sees Ethiopia, parental home of the fantastic lead singer Rahel Debebe-Dessalegne, as a central point of reference, but also their collective experiences from appearances and recordings with Amy Winehouse, Matthew Herbert, or Nitin Sawhney. Athmo- and spherical pop songs, from intimate to orchestral.

Sam Beste - vocals, keys | Rahel Debebe-Dessalegne - vocals, bass | Alex Reeve - guitar | Calum Duncan - guitar, BVs | Jonny Coote - drums
