Concerts & cultural days - Street theatre - Georg Trakl
The Salzburg Cultural Association is Salzburg's leading concert organizer and has been influencing the musical events of our city for over 70 years. The Kulturvereinigung is the only organisation to invite international orchestras to the main venue of the Salzburg Festival outside festival hours and presents renowned local and international orchestras, conductors and artists as well as up-and-coming young names from the world of classical music.
Every year, the Cultural Association organises around 30 concerts in the Great Festival Hall, including the festive New Year's concerts as well as the successful student and apprentice concerts. The Salzburg Cultural Association maintains a close relationship with the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg. Thanks to this cooperation, around 900 concerts have been jointly organised in Salzburg to date. In addition to the music programme, there is a regular programme of lectures and introductions to the programme.
With the Salzburg Cultural Days, the Salzburg Cultural Association programs a successful two-week music festival every year in autumn and opens up to different musical styles and formats. The Salzburg Cultural Days have made a name for themselves with a wide range of sounds and a multi-faceted programme with top international orchestras and musicians as well as local artists.
In summer (July/August) the Salzburg Cultural Association organises the popular Salzburg Street Theatre. The traditional theatre car then travels through town and country with around 40 performances and presents theatre free of charge.
The administration and ticket office of the Salzburg Cultural Association are located in the birthplace of the Salzburg poet Georg Trakl on Waagplatz. Here the cultural association also maintains the Georg Trakl Research and Memorial Site, which is regularly opened for guided tours and readings
