The floor creaks with every single step, the sewing machine can be heard doing its job, a fine smell of leather rises. These are the first impressions you get when you visit the belt maker on the 1st floor.
The belt maker Schliesselberger, in Dreifaltigkeitsgasse 4, is the last company that still processes leather in this traditional leather quarter. The in-house workshop, where belts and repairs are processed by patient master craftsmen, is complemented by the extensive range of ladies' handbags, small leather goods and already finished ladies' and men's belts. Already on the ground floor, where the first sales room is located in the pretty shop, one can only guess how many belt variations there are here.
With all belt models in stock, you can have another buckle fitted on request, and if the exactly fitting belt length is not in stock, the selected belt is made to fit within minutes.
Approximately 400 different leather colours, hundreds of buckles and possible combinations leave almost nothing to be desired by the customer.
The fine soft feel of some leathers and the scent make every visit a unique sensual experience. The familiar, traditional ambience invites you to linger. A look into the workshop is also permitted.
