The Wishing Table – Family tour in the DomQuartier

When the prince-bishop invited people to dinner, the kitchen was a flurry of activity. Everything had to be perfect. The food, the drinks, the festively decorated table. The most adventurous recipes of the time are presented in 300-year-old cookbooks. We can see today how lavishly the rich churchmen dined back then in the impressive paintings from the baroque period: Partridges, pheasants, geese, ducks, exotic fruits, wine and beer were on the menu.
The tables were lavishly set with ornate glassware, shining polished chalices and beautifully painted bowls.
