Ukrainian icon paintings
Workshop on Ukrainian icon paintings at the Landesgalerie Kunst im Traklhaus.
Held by: Diana Bilyk and Olia Khmilevska, artists
and Prof. Taras Tymo, "Radruzh" School of Iconography of the Ukrainian Catholic
University of Lviv.
Also included is a visit to the exhibition Ukrainian Icons at the City Gallery Mozartplatz. The icons are painted on reverse glass. A beautiful and traditional technique, which was transferred to Ukraine via the Habsburg monarchy to
Romania and Slovakia to Ukraine. The self-designed icons can be taken home.
