Schatz Durchhaus Konditorei

Schatz Durchhaus Konditorei

The Schatz Confectionery is located in the so-called Schatz Durchhaus in Salzburg, which leads from Getreidegasse 3A to Universitätsplatz 16. The traditional confectionery was founded around 1880 by Carl Schatz (1849-1904) and has been run as a family business by the Winkler family since 1983.  The café with 7 tables, which is attached to the confectionery, is one of the smallest and finest in the city. Master confectioner Erich Winkler was also guild master of the Salzburg confectioners from 2000 to 2010.
He quickly conquered the hearts of lovers of sweet temptations with his heavenly specialities. For example, the fluffy raspberry soufflé, the delicate treasure cream slice or the fruity cherry rolls are all delighting. Also a pleasure are the mini pastries and the treasure Mozartkugeln.
The shop portal in the listed building dates back to the early days of the confectionery and the interior, which consists of turned tables with round marble tops and bentwood chairs, was designed by master builder Jakob Ceconi. A gargoyle with a lion
