Martin Kilga's Vietnamese pop-up kitchen at Michael Sporer.

What you can eat can also be distilled.

A culinary afternoon with two exceptional people: Michael Sporer and Martin Kilga. The former invents drinks and produces spirits in his family company, the latter is the head of the Restaurant PARADOXON in the Nonntal with clear lines and plenty of invention.

As different as the two operations are, Sporer and Kilga have a common spirit. For eat&meet they are focusing on edible plants. While Sporer is producing a distillation of herbs and spices, Kilga makes pho, a traditional Vietnamese soup.

In Vietnam, pho is also served for breakfast, and the soup is usually prepared with beef broth, rice noodles and additional variable ingredients. Martin Kilga cooks a vegetarian pho using a mushroom base and plenty of vegetables. Soup and drinks are served in the Sporer premises in the Getreidegasse. The distillation will be available to be purchased for a month at Sporer as the eat&meet edition. Martin Kilga and his team will also be creating a long drink from it.

“The flavor of the drink should match the food", explains Sporer. The distillation should also have an Asian-exotic note.”

Sporer and Kilga are not only linked by a long friendship, but also a common vision: “eat&meet is about synergies”, says Martin Kilga. “We didn't want to create alone, but wanted to mutually support and promote each other. That's the only way we can continue to develop.”

Because the eye is also an organ of enjoyment, they recruited Christan Steinwender from studiosteinwender. He will provide the visual part of the event with an “artistic intervention”.
