Flor De Toloache

Shae Fiol: vocal, guitar | Mireya Ramos: vocal, violin | Elena Lacayo: guitarron | Anna Garcia: trumpet

Right from the beginning, Flor de Toloache, founded in 2008, by singers Mireya I. Ramos and Shae Fiol, initially as a trio and now as quartet, wanted to take traditional Mexican Mariachi music multi-culturally into the future. It has had immense success with this particularly in the USA: an appearance on the famous Tiny Desk Concerts of the NPR radio station led to a collaboration with Dan Auerbach’s rock super group The Arcs and recordings for the Fania label which, in turn, led to appearances on the Stephen Colbert and Jools Holland TV shows as well as a Grammy nomination and being named winner of two Latin Grammys. Salzburg can therefore look forward to a rousing, charming, eclectic, and bold revival of the centuries-old Mariachi tradition.
