Kadri Voorand & Mihkel Mälgand
Artist biography Kadri Voorand
In her homeland Estonia Kadri Voorand is already a star winning the “Estonian Music Awards” as best female artist as well as for best jazz album in 2020. She has also been honoured for her producing – acknowledgement of her special sense of contemporary vocal aesthetic combined with a sensitive use of electronic effects and loops. Voorand sang in her mother’s folk music ensemble already as a child and learnt to play the classic piano before going on to study jazz at the academies in Tallinn and Stockholm. She quickly proved her virtuosity and versatility not only with her own projects but also in the a capella vocal sextet “Estonian Voices” as well as with compositions for film chamber choirs and classic orchestra.
