Yoni Mayraz Quartet

Yoni Mayraz: keyboard | Tom Driessler: bass | Callum Connell: sax | Zoe Pascal: drums

Like Avishai Cohen, Omer Klein or Gilad Hekselman, keyboarder and producer Yoni Mayraz belongs to the youngest generation of many jazz musicians from Tel Aviv, just like. Whilst many notable Israeli figures used to conquer the world from Brooklyn, Mayraz settled in London where he worked with Tom Driessler, Zoe Pascal and El-B. His debut album “Dybbuk Tse!” which blends New York nineties rap and old school break beats with elements of the Middle Eastern music of his homeland to form a shimmering new type of music was recently released on Astigmatic Records. Mayraz now presents this in Salzburg with two energetic, dancefloor-focussed shows.

Jazzit has existed since 2002 - a professional all-year business with diverse concert series. Jazzit has developed into an internationally renowned music club that has been regularly chosen as the "Greatest Jazz Venue" worldwide by Downbeat Magazine. The club's spectrum, which has already included up close and personal performances by stars like Pat Metheny, Al di Meola, John Scofield, Abdullah Ibrahim or Charles Lloyd, ranges from jazz and world music, to avant-garde and new electronic music. The jam sessions in the program are particularly noteworthy, taking place each Tuesday with free admission, giving many young people the opportunity to become familiar with the genre of jazz.

The bar is wheelchair accessible via the concert hall, the toilets are only accessible via steps.
