Everything vegan! Breads, spreads, wine

The question of “man or machine?” was clearly and concisely answered by Josef Weghaupt in 2009 with the establishment of Joseph Brot. “I would rather invest in people rather than in machines. Authentic, living bread can only be produced with people in a real bakery, with intelligent craftsmanship. Every individual movement increases our quality. Every action contains the feeling of our bakers for living bread and baked goods. No machine can match that.”

Today there are 91 bakers that work with Joseph Weghaupt in Burgschleinitz in the Waldviertel expressing their enthusiasm for true craftsmanship. The “Table” sits in the center of the bakery, a baking table where all of the doughs are prepared together. There are perfectly balanced organic sourdoughs, and organic main doughs with the aromas of old, biodiverse cultured grains such as wild rye. The dough is proved for up to four days until it is broken off by hand and worked, folded, turned out and shaped into breads and baked goods. A completely new food quality, real life that you can taste, smell and feel.
