To stand on the stage of the Elbphilharmonie and learn from the jazz greats such as clarinettist Anat Cohen or saxophonist Donny McCaslin: Elbphilharmonie Jazz Academy has been making this dream come true for many since 2021. For one week future professional musicians can work on their passion, namely jazz, under the guidance of professionals – this year Cohen and McCaslin, drummer Matt Wilson, pianist Sullivan Fortner, bassist Martin Wind and singer Clarice Assad. Instead of all going their separate ways after the final concert on 20 August, all participants are now coming together one final time for two concerts, with different line-ups, in Salzburg thanks to the collaboration of Jazz & The City and the Elbphilharmonie. Without any mentors, they present their own compositions and the results of a week at the Elbphilharmonie Jazz Academy.
