Salzburger Marionettentheater

The Salzburg Marionette Theatre is one of the last professional puppet theatres and has been included in the UNESCO list for the preservation of intangible cultural heritage. The performance practice of the Salzburg Puppet Theatre was chosen as a cultural asset worthy of preservation as the "most highly developed form of puppet and figure theatre". The incredible expressiveness of the figures and the precision of the puppeteers captivate many visitors from all over the world. At the festival, the cosy theatre with its beautiful bar and exit to the Mirabell Gardens becomes one of the festival's meeting places, where evenings are allowed to wind down after the concerts and musicians meet visitors.
